What makes it functional?
Your diet, lifestyle, genes, healthy history, and other factors influence your health. The Functional Nutrition approach takes into account all these aspects to identify your nutritional requirements. Eating according to these needs is functional! Addressing only a single representative of your current health status or focusing on an isolated symptom most likely won’t bring the long-lasting results you want to improve your performance and well-being. However, examining the full picture and connecting the dots will identify areas that require attention to maximize your body’s potential.
Functional Nutrition and Functional Medicine
In Functional Nutrition we are inspired by the Functional Medicine approach, where the therapeutic partnership between practitioner and client is of great importance. We both are part of your journey in search of the root causes of your concerns, using a systems-based approach and a “toolbox” that allow us to properly assess your health, recommend what’s best, and track the results. The knowledge of how food, nutrition, lifestyle, and physiology interact is crucial to the process of mastering your health. I’m here to help!
Steps of the program:
1. Completion of the Intake Form
Here you’ll answer questions about your health so I can understand your history better before I ask you more details about it. History and context always matter in functional nutrition! It’s important to provide complete answers.
2. In-depth Health Assessment Session – 1 hour
In this session, we take a deeper look into your health history, concerns, and goals to capture who you really are and consider your unique bio-individuality to make recommendations that serve your body. Other assessment tools like a food journal or supplement tracker may also be used for your case.
